An extension in every employee’s browser rightly raises questions. Here’s what ClickCheck does and doesn’t process, for whom, and why.
What ClickCheck is not
ClickCheck isn’t employee monitoring, a keylogger or a tool that tracks browsing history. Nor is it a DLP suite, an RPA tool or a password manager. It does one thing: show an agreed message at an agreed action.
What the extension processes
The extension only looks at websites that have a rule, and only at the element and fields selected in that rule. Amounts, account numbers and text are checked locally and not sent on.
- Sent to the server: which rule was triggered, on which website, what the person chose, and whether the button was recognised properly.
- For an approval request: the amount and the optional reason too, so the approver knows what they’re deciding on.
- Not sent to the server: page content, keystrokes, form contents, screenshots, browsing history or pasted text.
Who is responsible
The organisation using ClickCheck decides which rules exist and for whom. That makes it the data controller for information about its employees. ClickCheck processes that information on its behalf, as a processor.
Employees have a right to know what’s recorded. We recommend organisations inform their people before introducing ClickCheck and, where applicable, involve the works council.
How long we keep data
Events are kept for the period the organisation chooses: 90, 180 or 365 days. After that they’re deleted automatically. When an account is closed, that organisation’s data is deleted.
This website
This website uses no analytics, no advertising cookies and no third-party scripts. It only sets a functional session cookie needed to process forms securely.
If you send us a message through the contact form, we keep your name, email address, optional company name and your message so we can reply. We don’t store your IP address with your message.
